Gremlins 3: Zach Galligan Gives Big Update on Anticipated Sequel Movie

Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment’s long-in-development Gremlins 3 movie has finally received a promising update regarding its current progress. This comes after it was reported earlier this year that Warner Bros. was planning to revive two of its most popular movies from the 1980s, including Gremlins and Goonies. Both iconic movies were executive-produced by acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

What was Zach Galligan’s Gremlins 3 update?

During a recent appearance at Comic Con Manchester, original Gremlins star Zach Galligan confirmed that the long-awaited Gremlins 3 movie finally has a completed script. At the moment, the said screenplay only needs approval from Spielberg.

“After 35 years, they’ve come up with a script. Warner Bros. is incredibly interested in doing it, apparently it’s waiting on Mr. Spielberg to read it and approve it,” Galligan shared.

Gremlins was a horror comedy directed by Joe Dante from a screenplay written by Chris Columbus. Besides Galligan, the first installment also starred Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain, with Howie Mandel providing the voice of Gizmo. Due to its critical success, the movie was followed by a sequel titled Gremlins 2: The New Batch in 1994.

In the original 1984 movie, Galligan was introduced as Billy Peltzer, whose father gifted him with a mogwai named Gizmo. However, his unusual-looking but friendly pet comes with three strict rules he must follow: never expose Gizmo to sunlight, don’t let it come in contact with water, and never feed it after midnight. Things go horribly wrong after Gizmo accidentally gets water spilled on him, leaving Billy in a difficult situation.
