Though her involvement at this stage is not yet assured, Patty Jenkins has, since last week, been the rumored frontrunner to become the director of the 2013 sequel, Thor 2. Today, The LA Times caught up with the film's leading man, Chris Hemsworth, and learned that he's got some favorable things to say about Jenkins.
“She has a great take on the story and a solid grasp on that kind of universe,” says Hemsworth, "...Branagh read every comic book he could get his hands on. She also looked like she had done her homework.”
With a July 26, 2013 release targeted, Thor 2 should have a director confirmed shortly. Hemsworth, meanwhile, is shooting Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart. Perhaps more than coincidentally, Theron won an Oscar under Jenkins for 2003's Monster.
Hemsworth can also be seen on the big screen as Thor in the upcoming The Avengers, hitting theaters on May 4, 2012.
