Ant-Man is King of the Hill as WB’s Pan Shifts Release Date

Just two weeks after the trailer debuted, Warner Bros. has announced the release date for Joe Wright’s upcoming prequel film Pan has shifted from July 17, 2015, where it was originally going head-to-head against Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ant-Man, to July 24, 2015, where it will face Sony’s Pixels, Fox’s Poltergeist remake, and Universal’s Judd Apatow-directed Trainwreck. This leaves the Peyton Reed-directed film all alone on its release date, which was originally held by WB’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice prior to its initial delay.

Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne.

In the film, Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, Land must go up against seemingly insurmountable obstacles to pull off a heist that will save the world.

Also starring Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Martin Donovan, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Corey Stoll, Gregg Turkington, Abby Ryder Fortson, David Dastmalchian and T.I., Ant-Man features a script by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Adam McKay.
