âIt was expected. You kinda know going into it that people are used to seeing something one way, itâs a continuity thing more than anything. People donât like change too much. But annoyed? Eh, you just kinda accept it, it is what it is. You canât make everybody happy. You just gotta accept that and know. Iâm an actor, I have to do my job. Iâm going to do my job the best I can and the way Iâve been doing it my entire life, my entire career. I grew up a comic book guy, I read comic books as a kid growing up, and the Fantastic Four/Human Torch is one of my favorite characters so Iâm going to give it my everything. I canât wait. I donât really let it bother me at all. I just want to go into it and do the best job I can. Weâll see what happens.â
Jordan also elaborated on why he decided on taking the role, saying it will give him an opportunity to do things he doesnât often do on screen.
âThe Human Torch is, âyknow, thatâs fun. Thatâs going to be a good timeâŚTo play a superhero? Thatâs dreams coming true. Itâs not going to be hard. Itâs going to be fun to kind of show a side of me that I donât really get to show on screen, to be a little bit lighter, funnier, just more personality. Itâs going to be fun.â
Jordan will play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in the film along with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. Josh Trank will direct the big screen adaptation from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. The Fantastic Four is currently set for a release on June 19, 2015â.
