Marvel’s Avengers Voice Actors Praise the Game’s Demo
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics still have a little less than a year to fix any lingering issues with Marvel’s Avengers before it hits stores next May. But according to some of its cast members, things are looking impressive even at this stage. The developers premiered some new gameplay footage at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. Anyone who couldn’t make the convention will have to wait a few more weeks to watch it online (or check out a poorly-filmed version on YouTube). However, Nolan North and Troy Baker promise that fans won’t be disappointed.
North, who voices Tony Stark in the game, shared his enthusiasm during an appearance at Manchester Comic-Con (via Gamebyte). North has been part of several big gaming franchises throughout his career, including Uncharted and The Last of Us. So it goes without saying that his praise is nothing to take lightly.
“It absolutely is one of the most stunning things,” said North. “You can’t tell where in-game cinematics and gameplay [separate]. It’s so seamless.”
“You always worry that [a game] looks so good, and then you get the game and you’re like, ‘Oh, gameplay doesn’t look as good,’” added North. “[Avengers] really, visually, it’s one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen. And obviously with The Last of Us, Uncharted, they’re amazing, but [Avengers] blew me away.”
Baker, who plays Bruce Banner, also expressed his disbelief in the quality of the game’s graphics.
“It really honestly is [amazing],” said Baker. “I’m gonna share something with you: we saw the demo that they’re gonna release a week after Gamescom. I told our director, I was like, ‘Cool, that’s a great demo,’ and I asked one question and he goes, ‘No man, that’s all gameplay.’ It looked like a scripted event [and I was confusing it] with gameplay.”
Marvel’s Avengers is still targeting a release date of May 15, 2020. Do North and Baker’s comments make you more excited to play the game? Let us know in the comment section below!
