Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Just Set an Unfortunate MCU Record

Daredevil: Born Again has set a viewership record for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, it’s a record Marvel Studios would likely prefer didn’t exist.

Back in March 2025, Disney+ reported that the two-episode premiere of Daredevil: Born Again reached 7.5 million views in its first five days of availability on the streaming service. While that marked the biggest premiere of the year so far for Disney+, it was a far cry from the 10.9 million views Loki Season 2 earned over three days and the 9.3 million views Agatha All Along received over its first week.

What unfortunate record did Daredevil: Born Again just set?

Per ComicBook.com, Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 has become Marvel’s first live-action Disney+ series to not make Nielsen’s Top 10 list of original streaming shows, a disappointing record to achieve considering how much excitement there was within the fandom ahead of the show’s premiere. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that anticipation translated into viewership.

However, thanks to an initial 18-episode order from Marvel, Daredevil: Born Again will have another chance at viewership success, with a second season currently in production. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are reprising their roles from Netflix’s Defenders Saga and Born Again Season 1 as series’ co-leads Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively.

Other returning stars for Season 2 include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Clark Johnson as Cherry, Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher.

New additions to Born Again’s ensemble cast for Season 2 include Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor, with the latter set to play a political rival of Fisk. Krysten Ritter is also confirmed to be making her long-awaited MCU return as Jessica Jones in Born Again Season 2, with speculation running rampant that Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) will join her, reuniting the Defenders for the first time since 2017.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
