Krysten Ritter has officially returned as Jessica Jones in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Set photos released on May 23, 2025, show Ritter alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil on the Brooklyn, New York, set. Ritter appears in her character’s signature outfit — blue jeans and a black leather jacket — while Cox wears Daredevil’s black costume with the red “DD” emblem.
Ritter confirmed her comeback during Marvel’s segment at Disney’s Upfront presentation, stating, “It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders, and now joining the MCU.” She added, “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 follows the events of the Season 1 finale, where Wilson Fisk, now mayor, implements martial law using his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. In response, Daredevil assembles a team, and Jessica Jones joins to bolster the group’s strength. Ritter returns to the role for the first time since Netflix cancelled Jessica Jones in 2019.
Ritter originally portrayed the character across three Jessica Jones’ seasons (2015–2019) and in the 2017 crossover miniseries The Defenders. Her return may signal further appearances by fellow Defenders, though Luke Cage and Iron Fist’s involvement remains unconfirmed. However, both Mike Colter and Finn Jones are currently in New York.
The Daredevil: Born Again cast includes Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Margarita Levieva, Wilson Bethel, Ayelet Zurer, Clark Johnson, and Michael Gandolfini.
