Star Wars: Ahsoka Series Casts Ray Stevenson As a Villain

The word is out that Star Wars: Ahsoka will begin filming in two months. And one of Ahsoka’s first villains has been found. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ray Stevenson has been cast as an Imperial admiral on the series. However, THR notes that Stevenson is not playing Grand Admiral Thrawn. That role will have to go to someone else.

Stevenson has an impressive list of genre credits to his name. He played Frank Castle/The Punisher in Punisher: War Zone, and co-starred in the Thor films as Volstagg of the Warriors Three. Additionally, he provided the voice of  Gar Saxon in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Saxon was the Imperial Viceroy of Mandalore. But since he was killed off in Rebels, Stevenson won’t be reprising that role.

Outside of those credits, Stevenson co-headlined HBO’s Rome, and he also appeared in History’s Vikings series and in Black Sails on Starz.

Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano in the series after appearing in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Hayden Christensen will also be back as Anakin Skywalker, while Natasha Liu Bordizzo is portraying Sabine Wren. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ivanna Sakhno have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

Star Wars: Ahsoka will start production in April. However, Disney+ hasn’t set a date for it yet. But a 2023 premiere seems likely.
