Now that Disney+ subscribers have binge-watched all nine episodes of Star Wars: Visions, Lucasfilm is giving them the chance to take a closer look at how each of these stories was brought to life. The studio is teaming up with Dark Horse Books to release The Art of Star Wars: Visions. This companion book explores the making of the new animated anthology series.
For Visions, Lucasfilm teamed up with seven high-profile anime studios to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe with fresh-faced heroes embarking on their own cosmic adventures. Author Zack Davisson, who has extensive experience writing about Japanese folklore, is presiding over the series’ art book. Davisson will examine the artistic processes of the Japanese creators who put their own stamp on it. Readers can also expect to see new concept art, designs, and storyboards from the show as well.
Dark Horse hasn’t revealed the final cover for The Art of Star Wars: Visions. However, they did confirm that it will retail for $49.99. Nerdist also recently caught up with Dark Horse editor Ian Tucker, who teased the book’s many surprises.

“These worlds that we know so well have been brilliantly rendered in fascinating new ways,” continued Tucker. “And other fans of Star Wars will undoubtedly savor the talent and zeal poured into each adventure as much as I have. We’re thrilled to have partnered with Lucasfilm and writer Zack Davisson in the creation of The Art of Star Wars: Visions, and we can’t wait to share this gorgeous collection of concept art and creator insights!”
