Robert Rodriguez Says The Book of Boba Fett Will “Over-deliver”

During the second season of The Mandalorian, Robert Rodriguez helmed the sixth episode, which formally reintroduced Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett following his cameo in the first episode of the season. Additionally, Rodriguez signed on to direct and executive produce the new spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett.

While the premiere of the second live-action Star Wars series is still a few months away, Rodriguez is already hyping the show. During a recent interview with Collider, Rodriguez made some big promises about the series.

“[I] can’t say anything about it at all right now, but it’s coming out in December,” said Rodriguez. “Wait until you see what’s coming. It’s going to blow your mind. That’s all I can say. I can talk it up all I want, because I know it over-delivers. It way over-delivers. People are going to be so pumped when they see it.”

Earlier this summer, Morrison confirmed that Rodriguez won’t be the only one directing the series. Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Dave Filoni will also direct episodes. The series will follow Boba Fett and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) after they seized control of Tatooine’s underworld. Additionally, the show may explore what happened to Boba Fett in the years between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian.

The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+ in December.
