It appears that The Boys fans will still have to wait for a while before watching the third series with their favorite antiheroes. The good news is that Amazon has come up with a plan to make the fans miss Butcher and the others a bit less. The streaming platform has announced, via EW, that they’re launching a satirical digital series to fill in the story between the events from seasons 2 and 3. The show is called Seven on 7 and features actor Matthew Edison as anchor Cameron Coleman on Vought News. The first episode is already online and tackles, among the other topics, the sudden disappearance of Stormfront and the breakup between her and Homelander. Edison’s Coleman will have a part in the upcoming season, so that’s just a taste of what’s coming next.

“Since the very start of The Boys, we’ve seen Vought’s propaganda arm — I mean, news channel — VNN,” The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke said while talking with EW. “We’ll be digging deeper into those fair and balanced patriots next season, so as a teaser, we’re introducing Seven on 7 with VNN’s biggest star Cameron Coleman. The episodes are in-world canon, serving up brand-new information that bridges the story gap between season 2 and 3. So enjoy the hot takes and catheter commercials, just like your parents do!”
Amazon still hasn’t announced a premiere date for The Boys season 3.
