The Flash Star Grant Gustin Shares His Salute To Arrow

Earlier this week, The CW revealed that Arrow will come to an end after a shortened eighth season. That series is one of The CW’s signature shows, and it led to the other Arrowverse spinoffs including DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. But the first, and most important spinoff, was The Flash. Grant Gustin made his debut as Barry Allen on the second season of Arrow. Shortly thereafter, Gustin headlined The Flash for five seasons. Now, Gustin is sharing his response to the news of Arrow‘s impending end in a lengthy Instagram post. He spoke about his admiration for the show’s cast and crew, including series star Stephen Amell. He even jokingly asked if he and Amell can hang out more after the show ends.

After Arrow comes to a conclusion, The Flash will be The CW’s flagship superhero series. Whether it will also run for eight seasons or more remains to be seen. However, Gustin and Amell will share the stage one more time in Crisis on Infinite Earths. In Elseworlds, Amell’s Oliver Queen made an off-camera deal with the Monitor to save Flash and Supergirl. Potentially, that could also be the reason why Oliver Queen won’t be around after the next event. However, that’s just speculation at this point.  Crisis on Infinite Earths will provide the answers in December.

The Flash season 5 and Arrow season 7 are currently running on The CW. Both shows will wrap up their current seasons in May.
