A popular comedian and former Saturday Night Live star wishes to play X-Men‘s Blob in the upcoming MCU reboot movie. The anticipated project will be helmed by Jake Schreier, who previously worked on 2025’s Thunderbolts*.
In an exclusive conversation with ComingSoon‘s Tyler Treese, Minions & Monsters star Bobby Moynihan revealed his eagerness to be a part of the MCU’s Untitled X-Men film. He even mentioned which X-Men character he wants to portray in the movie. “My dream is to play the Blob in the X-Men universe. That’s all I want.”
When asked about the reason that made him consider playing Blob, Moynihan explained, “I’ve just always loved that comic book character, and I really want to put that costume on and do it. I want to play a weird villain.”
Frederick J. Dukes/Blob is a mutant and an adversary of the X-Men in Marvel comics. His main ability is to become immovable whenever he desires.
Who has been cast in the MCU’s X-Men reboot?
The untitled X-Men reboot movie in the MCU has found its initial lineup of leading cast members. During Disney’s D23 event last week, Kevin Feige announced the cast, including Sadie Sink who has already been confirmed as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Besides Sink, the untitled X-Men movie will feature Obsession star Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Maya Boyd as Ororo Munroe/Storm, and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister.
Moving forward, the film will have more additions to the already confirmed cast.
Speaking more of the movie, it’s rumored to have another villain in addition to Driver’s Mister Sinister. According to reliable insider My Time To Shine Hello, the X-Men reboot movie may have a cameo by a bigger villain than Mister Sinister and the casting is reportedly underway for this character.
However, all unverified reports and claims should be taken with a grain of salt unless Marvel shares any official update.
The Untitled X-Men reboot movie will hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
