Marvel’s movie calendar now stretches into 2029. Several major sequels and new characters are already lined up for theaters. At the same time, the MCU still has a few open dates that could be filled by projects that are yet to be announced.
As per Disney‘s release calendar, Spider-Man: Brand New Day kicked off the current theatrical slate on July 31, 2026. Avengers: Doomsday follows on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for December 17, 2027.
Marvel’s 2028 plans are starting to come together as well. An untitled X-Men movie is scheduled for May 5, followed by Ghost Rider on July 28. Black Panther 3 is then expected to arrive on December 15. Marvel has also confirmed Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider and David Jonsson as the new Black Panther.
Disney has reserved three more dates for MCU movies in 2029. They are May 4, July 13, and November 9. For now, none of these dates has an official movie title attached to it.
What could the untitled Marvel movies wind up being?
Marvel has several projects that could eventually fill those 2029 dates. However, the studio has not confirmed which movies will take those slots.
Shang-Chi 2 is one possibility. The sequel could continue Shang-Chi’s story after the 2021 movie. Simu Liu remains connected to the character, but Marvel has not announced a release date or production start.
Doctor Strange 3 is another potential option. The film could follow Stephen Strange after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, although Marvel has not officially confirmed the project.
Other possibilities include Deadpool 4, Fantastic Four 2, or another new franchise. One of the dates could also go to a team movie set in the post-Secret Wars era.
For now, the 2029 dates are simply placeholders. Marvel may reveal the titles after Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to reshape the MCU.
The calendar offers a broad look at Marvel’s theatrical plans, but several details remain unknown. Release dates can also change as projects move through development, casting, and production.
Until Marvel makes formal announcements, the 2029 entries should not be treated as confirmed movie titles.
