James Gunn has bluntly denied one popular The Batman Part II rumor, and it may leave some fans extremely upset. The highly awaited sequel to 2022’s blockbuster will see Robert Pattinson reprising his fan-favorite role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Recently, several fans assumed that The Batman Part II and The Batman Part III might be filming simultaneously. The speculation started after Bill Ramey, a credible personality covering the Batman franchise for decades, shared a redesigned logo for The Batman II with a roman numerical III.
This led to some fans believing that the third part is also in active development alongside Part II. One user wrote, “They’re filming Part II and Part III back to back, aren’t they? Which explains the delay in the release date.” But when DC Studios’ co-head Gunn was asked about the rumor, he simply denied it on Threads and wrote, “I can deny.”

It clearly means that only Part II is in active development right now. As for The Batman Part III, it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet by Warner Bros. and DC Studios. It seems eager fans will have to wait longer for an actual update on the third installment. If it gets a green light, fans will have to wait another couple of years for the film’s release.
