Star Wars’ Ewan McGregor Wants Andor Season 3 to Happen

Ewan McGregor, who played the titular role in the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi, recently expressed his desire for Andor Season 3 to happen. Andor is one of the most successful running Star Wars series, which made its debut in 2022 on Disney+. Season 2 of this Doego Luna series recently dropped on the streaming platform in April 2025 and received widespread acclaim.

Ewan McGregor urges Disney to green-light Andor Season 3

Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor recently stated that he wanted Disney to work on Season 3 of Andor.

While speaking at a Fan Expo in Canada, McGregor praised the series and stated that he wanted to be part of a potential Season 3 (via Collider). Requesting Disney, he said, “I got really excited. I was thinking, ‘I think I’m in this timeline. I think I could be in Season 3.’ I was super excited, and then I realized, ‘Oh no.’ So anyway, maybe if there was, I could have squeezed in there, if only. There’s always a chance that maybe there’s a story that’s happening at the same time where it kind of crosses over. So there’s always a chance if Disney is listening — hypothetically, hypothetically. Come on, Disney.”

He further stated that he missed the show when it first came out and added, “I always come to things later. It’s just the way I am. If everybody’s talking about something, I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ll see that later.’ And then when I watch it, you know, a year later, I’m like, ‘This is really good.’ And it was like, ‘Yeah, that’s what we were all saying a year ago.’ But I did. I watched Andor and I watched the first episode of it at home with my little boy, and then I realized what everyone was talking about.”

McGregor added that he watched the second season and “thought it was great.”

The chances for a Season 3 of Andor to happen are not much, as the creator Tony Gilroy had planned the series to end in two seasons, leading to the events of Rogue One.
