Bill & Ted Stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Congratulate the Class of 2020

Alex Winter recently took to Twitter to announce that a trailer for Bill and Ted Face the Music will arrive in a few weeks. But until then, Winter and his onscreen BFF, Keanu Reeves, have teamed up for some alternate Bill and Ted content for fans to sink their teeth into. In honor of the high school seniors who had to miss out on graduation ceremonies this year due to COVID-19, Winter and Reeves made their own mini-commencement video celebrating the class of 2020. You can check it out for yourselves by clicking on the link in the tweet below.

Because social distancing guidelines are still in place, Reeves and Winter filmed the video from the comfort of their own homes. They’re not exactly in character, but they do offer some encouraging words for graduating seniors. And what could be more uplifting at a time like this than hearing the duo’s iconic refrain: “Be excellent to each other, and party on.” They even found time to give a shoutout to San Dimas High School’s football team; which still rules.

The coronavirus pandemic has pushed back a number of upcoming summer blockbusters. However, Bill and Ted Face the Music has yet to vacate its August debut. Winter also recently promised that new information on the film’s release would be available soon. But it’s not clear if this means a new premiere date or if the movie will hit VOD platforms instead.

Bill and Ted Face the Music is currently slated to hit theaters on August 22.
