Ella Purnell Joins Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead Cast
With principal photography scheduled to begin this July, Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead cast is growing day by day. According to an official release, Ella Purnell has joined the cast of Army of the Dead to star as Dave Bautista’s daughter in the project. Purnell’s character has been described as “taciturn, hard-working, driven,” a “volunteer with the World Health Organization,” yet “estranged from her father”. The 22-year-old actress is know for her roles in Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and and in Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass 2.
Additionally, Zack Snyder’s feature has added Ana De La Reguera (Goliath), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy), and Huma Qureshi (Kaala). Their characters’ identity is still under wrap, but our guess is that De La Reguera will play the”hard-drinking and tough-talking” Cruz.
Zack Snyder will make his return behind the camera of a zombie pic after his 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, which was also his first movie as director. Since then he has mostly stayed close to the comic book genre with 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel, and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. He also made the action epic Sucker Punch.
Netflix’s Army of the Dead doesn’t have a premiere date just yet, but look for it to hit the streaming service by 2020 at the earliest. Which character do you think the other actors will play? Let us know your guess in the comments section below.
