Black Panther 3 Rumor Reveals Major MCU Characters Are Returning After Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios has officially announced Black Panther 3. Fans have already speculated which MCU characters will make a comeback in the film. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the third installment is expected to release after Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, marking the new future of Wakanda.

With David Jonsson already confirmed as the adult T’Challa II (son of T’Challa), many characters from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are expected to appear in the film.

What else do we know about Black Panther 3?

At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios announced that Black Panther 3 will be following Prince T’Challa II, played by David Jonsson. The British actor was introduced as a child in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It will also mark the return of Winston Duke as M’Baku and Leticia Wright as Shuri in the upcoming sequel.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Talokan, an underwater nation introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will return in the film. As per the report, Talokan will play a major role in the sequel. This could also mean the return of Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Alex Livinalli as Attuma, and Mabel Cadena as Namora. Reportedly, the casting process has begun, and Marvel is looking for both Wakandan and Talokan extras.

With Namor’s rumored return, the dynamics of Talokan’s relationship with Wakanda could change significantly. In Wakanda Forever, Shuri and Namor ultimately allied to overcome their conflicts. If both nations are affected by the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, they may have to work together again.

There is also a rumor suggesting the return of Queen Mother Ramonda, played by Oscar-nominated actress Angela Bassett, in Black Panther 3. Her character died in the last film, which suggests that the Ancestral Plane may play an important role in the film. However, these rumors are yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios. Black Panther 3 is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on December 15, 2028.
