Avengers: Doomsday Makes Beloved Disney+ MCU TV Show ‘Pointless,’ Says Insider

Rumors surrounding Avengers: Doomsday’s plot continue to fuel speculation within the fandom. Now, a new rumor suggests that the movie may undo Loki’s entire storyline from his acclaimed individual two-season Disney+ series.

According to a new post by industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, Avengers: Doomsday will make the 2022 series Loki “pointless.” The scooper did not elaborate on what they meant by the remark. Needless to say, the post has sparked concern among fans. Many are now eager to know what this could mean about Tom Hiddleston‘s character in future MCU installments.

Loki may be the end of Tom Hiddleston’s MCU journey

MyTimeToShineHello’s new post raises questions about Loki’s fate in the MCU. Tom Hiddleston’s casting in Avengers: Secret Wars also remains unconfirmed. While MyTimeToShineHello has previously reported that the actor is expected to reprise his role in the Doomsday sequel, his latest post appears to contradict his claim.

With no words from Marvel yet, Hiddleston’s return as Loki remains unconfirmed. Whether he will meet a disappointing fate in Doomsday is also up for debate. Meanwhile, fans appear to be divided over MyTimeToShineHello’s new claim that the upcoming Avengers installment will undo the Loki storyline.

One X user, Blazeon, speculated, “We already know that in order for Doom to be the creator of Battleworld he needs to kill Loki. Right?” while another, Nicholas Khan, stated that Loki’s “Season 2 establishes that Loki’s holding everything together is not a permanent solution.”

A third fan, Corey Reichhart, remained positive, stating, “Thankfully, a show doesn’t need a point to still be a good show… Loki will still be a really good show.”

Avengers: Doomsday will unite multiple superhero groups, the Avengers, Wakandans, and New Avengers, and the X-Men, for an epic battle against Doctor Doom. Secret Wars serves as an immediate sequel to Doomsday.

Robert Downey Jr. returns to the franchise as Doom, following Tony Stark’s death. The ensemble cast also includes Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Joseph Quinn, and Letitia Wright.

Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026, while Secret Wars is scheduled for a December 17, 2027 release.
