Ryan Gosling has officially become the MCU‘s Ghost Rider. There is more news about this long-anticipated casting and the creative team behind this Marvel Cinematic Universe project.
Gosling’s appearance in the 2028 Marvel film means his collaboration with Shawn Levy and Jonathan Tropper will continue. They directed him in Star Wars: Starfighter. As an award-winning actor, Gosling made his first appearance at the studios as a child in the Disney production The All New Mickey Mouse Club.

Tropper will reunite with Gosling and Levy as the screenplay writer for Ghost Rider. Earlier, they collaborated for Star Wars: Starfighter, which is planned for a May 28, 2027, release.
Before Gosling, Nicolas Cage played the titular role in the 2007 film of the same name, and its sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Both films earned a combined $361 million worldwide. The film follows Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stunt performer who sells his soul and becomes a supernatural spirit of revenge.
Interestingly, Gosling’s girlfriend Eva Mendes starred in the original Ghost Rider film as Roxanne Simpson. But nothing is confirmed yet about her involvement in the remake.
Gosling continues to be quite active on the work front. Last year, he was present at Comic-Con for Project Hail Mary promotion, helmed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The Amazon MGM Studios film went on to become a hit and earned more than $684 million worldwide.
He was also set to star in an unnamed film directed by Daniels for Universal Pictures. But Gosling dropped out of the project due to scheduling issues, which were thought to be related to his Ghost Rider commitments.
