Robert Downey Jr. has come up with a wild crossover involving Ghost Rider. Marvel fans got a pleasant surprise when they were informed about the latest Ghost Rider casting. During Marvel Studios’ panel at the San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H, it was revealed that Ryan Gosling will be the new Ghost Rider.
As Gosling’s inclusion in the MCU was received with a huge applause, Downey Jr. had quite an interesting idea about the character. During an interaction with Entertainment Weekly this Saturday, RDJ played with the idea of a crossover between Spider-Noir and Ghost Rider. “I want him and Spider-Noir with Nic to come back in, and be a motorcycle and sidecar,” Downey Jr. stated.
This would be a wild collaboration, as Nicholas Cage plays Ben Reilly in Amazon Prime’s Spider-Noir. Incidentally, Cage also starred as Ghost Rider back in 2007. Moreover, this would also mean a possible MCU-Sony team-up. Surely, as per RDJ’s proposal, the sight of the former and the present Johnny Blaze teaming up would be a treat for the fans. Meanwhile, MCU’s former Iron Man has a pivotal release coming up this year.
When is Avengers: Doomsday Releasing?
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a theatrical run from December 18, 2026. With the MCU’s plans around Kang falling flat, the studio resorted to a new villain in Doctor Doom, played by Downey Jr. The plot will revolve around how the Earth’s mightiest superheroes will assemble to thwart the dangers posed by Doctor Doom.
MCU has already released the initial trailer for the movie, and its hints have hyped fans up significantly. Almost all the major characters, including Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, X-Men, Shang-Chi, Fantastic Four, and others, have been spotted in action. Alongside, Doctor Doom has been shown as an immensely powerful entity who seemed to stop Thor’s Stormbreaker with just two fingers.
Avengers: Doomsday will have a stacked cast. Apart from Robert Downey Jr., the movie will see Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, and more reprising their iconic roles. The film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
