Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly see an MCU variant character become Captain America.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday has now wrapped production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie is scheduled to arrive in 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.

Who will reportedly become Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday?

According to scooper James Mack, the “Void in Avengers Doomsday will be packed with random and really cool variants of some heroes.” Mack clarified in a comment that he’s referring to the Void featured in Loki and Deadpool & Wolverine, rather than the version of Lewis Pullman’s Sentry who emerges in Thunderbolts*.

When asked if MCU fans will see a Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier variant who suits up as Captain America, Mack said this was indeed the case.

This is only a rumor and should be treated as such as this time, as official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain heavily under wraps.
