He-Man Actor Teases Live-Action Look in Masters of the Universe Set Photo

Red, White & Royal Blue star Nicholas Galitzine has shared a brand new Masters of the Universe set photo, confirming that production on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Mattel’s iconic toy franchise has finally been completed. The movie is currently slated to arrive in theaters on June 5, 2026.

“The movie follows 10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia,” reads the official synopsis. “After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”

Who is in the Masters of the Universe set photo?

Posted on his Instagram account, the Masters of the Universe set photo provides fans with a glimpse of Galitzine’s live-action look as He-Man, which he describes as a “role of a lifetime.” It also teases the character’s signature Sword of Power.

Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight from a screenplay written by Chris Butler, which is based on the initial draft by David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee. The ensemble also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and more. It is a production by Escape Artists and Mattel Films, with Robbie Brenner, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch as producers.
