A new rumor has emerged regarding the potential villains who will be featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth Spider-Man movie from Marvel Studios and Sony. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film, which will be released in 2026, will once again see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker.
Which villains are rumored to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
On Instagram, user trusthigashi — who, per a DiscussingFilm X post, “attended the Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products panel yesterday” — said that Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone will all appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

This is a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt at this time, as neither Marvel nor Sony has confirmed this. Official plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day remain under wraps at this time.
There have also been a number of other rumors that have been going around online regarding Brand New Day’s villains. Succession’s Sarah Snook, for example, is supposedly being eyed to play a female antagonist, while there’s also been talk of Mister Negative potentially being in the film.
Should the most recent rumor prove to be true, however, it would seemingly mean that Michael Mando’s Marc Gargan/Scorpion will be returning to the MCU. Mando’s character was briefly seen in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, and, while it seemed like Scorpion was introduced in order to tease his involvement in a future film, he hasn’t been seen since.
Stranger Things’ Saide Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have also been cast in Spider-Man 4, though it has not yet been revealed who they are playing. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are both expected to return as MJ and Ned Leeds.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026.
