John Boyega Reveals X-Men Character He’d Like To Play in the MCU

Actor John Boyega recently opened up about who he might like to play in a potential X-Men movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What X-Men did John Boyega say he would want to play?

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz during an appearance at this year’s C2E2, Boyega recounted a story about how Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige once asked him who he would like to play in the MCU. At the time, Boyega had no answer, but now, he may have found one.

A fan at the convention suggested that Boyega play Bishop, the time-traveling member of the X-Men. Boyega seconded the idea, saying he’d do it.

“Oh, I’d play Bishop,” said Boyega.

While the comments themself don’t mean much, fans were quick to wonder what it could mean for future MCU X-Men casting. No real information about an X-Men film has been brought up by Marvel recently. However, Feige did talk about how important the group is to Marvel as a whole and teased that the mutant group would be an “important part” of the lead-up to Avengers: Secret Wars.

“… On the road to Secret Wars, we already know very well what the story will be up until then and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future,” Feige said in a 2024 interview with Omelete.

Boyega was last seen in 2023’s They Cloned Tyrone, a sci-fi comedy mystery for Netflix directed by Juel Taylor.
