Thor: Love and Thunder TV Spot Highlights New Guardians Footage

The summer of Love and Thunder is almost here. With only 10 days left until Marvel’s next Thor sequel flies into theaters, the studio is celebrating this milestone with yet another TV spot. Boasting some new footage, the latest preview for the film primarily showcases the role that the Guardians of the Galaxy will play in Thor’s upcoming adventure.

Avengers: Endgame famously ended with Thor boarding the Milano and joining Peter Quill’s gang on a trek across the cosmos. Presumably, Love and Thunder will pick up shortly after the start of their journey together. Because in one of the promo’s final shots, we see Thor sporting his dad bod physique and dressed in his full-body armor from Endgame as he leads the Guardians away from an explosion (as all the best superheroes do).

Luckily, earlier trailers for the film have shown us that Thor eventually sheds the extra pounds and regains his confidence just in time to face Gorr, the vengeful God Butcher who vows to rid Thor and his kind from the face of existence. The spot also features new scenes and dialogue from Christian Bale’s freshman MCU villain. Plus, we get to see more of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, and Thor’s new goat companions, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, in all their screaming glory.

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8.
