Ghostbusters: Afterlife Will Hit Blu-ray and DVD in February

The new Ghostbusters gang is gearing up for its home video release. A little over a month after the film’s theatrical debut, Sony (via Collider) has announced when fans can get their hands on their very own copy of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The sequel will hit digital platforms on January 4, and it will be available in SD, HD, and 4K UHD formats. Sony has also confirmed that the film will be released on Blu-ray, 4K, and DVD on February 1.

Unfortunately, Sony hasn’t released a full list of bonus material for the upcoming physical release. However, they were nice enough to share the cover art for the two-disc 4K version, which shows the film’s younger heroes chasing after Muncher in the Ecto-1. This edition retails for $29.99 and features a 2160p video resolution along with Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos immersive audio. Meanwhile, the standard Blu-ray goes for $24.99. Also on February 1, Sony is releasing a gift set that packages Afterlife with the first two films in the Ghostbusters franchise. (Sadly, defenders of the all-female 2016 reboot won’t find a copy of it here). The 4K edition of the set costs a whopping $149.99 and looks like it houses all three movies inside a ghost trap slipcase. But for anyone who thinks that’s too expensive, rest easy: the collection is hitting Blu-ray and DVD as well.
