Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter Explain Bill And Ted Face the Music Origins

Almost thirty years after the last time, the Wyld Stallyns reunited in the recent Bill and Ted Face the Music. But the process of seeing Bill and Ted back together was not always a comfortable ride. In a recent video interview with MTV, actors Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter revealed that the movie came to be during a very casual dinner with Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.

“Keanu and I have not thought about making a third film,” he confessed. “It was not even something we thought Chris and Ed have thought either. I think they just kind of had this inspiration for this sort of Dickensian riff on us, a sort of looking at our life and not having written a song. Keanu and I thought it was an undeniably good idea.”

Reeves went on to add there was a process of collaboration between the actors and the writers about the characters’ development.

The actors also revealed that the fans’ support was crucial in the making of the film. At a very critical juncture, the project came close to never seeing the light of day. But according to Winter, the fan support put “wind in the sails” to overcome difficulties and ultimately deliver it to the fans.

Bill and Ted Face the Music is out now.
