After the early box office success of James Gunn’s Superman, attention is already shifting toward Andy Muschietti’s Brave and the Bold movie, for which Gunn intends to look for a new Batman. There would be no shortage of big names willing to join the DCU in this new era.

Here is a list of actors who both fit the bill and are interested in the role.

List of actors interested in playing Batman in James Gunn’s DCU

Randy Orton

WWE star Randy Orton recently expressed that he is open to playing Batman in a social media interaction. Fans had a mixed reaction to this. Not many were confident about Orton’s acting skills, though many others believed his presence would be exceptional.

Alan Ritchson

Jack Reacher star Alan Ritchson seems like a logical choice for the role with his current physique and past credits. He is extremely interested in the role, to the point that he even told Wired that he would do the role for free if DC picked him.

Jensen Ackles

Another very logical option to take on the role of Batman in the DCU is Jensen Ackles. He is a talented actor versed in the superhero genre and has voiced Batman in DC animated movies. Ackles has mentioned that he believes the role would be very hard, adding that it would be challenging to carve out something unique.

Brandon Sklenar

Brandon Sklenar is a common choice for fan castings. The Yellowstone actor has also expressed his interest in becoming a Batman actor, especially in the newly formed DCU, in multiple interviews (via ComicBookMovie).

Scott Eastwood

Suicide Squad actor Scott Eastwood has quite a large filmography and has expressed his interest in playing the role. He recently spoke about it in an interview with ScreenRant, calling himself a “Batman guy.”

Glen Powell

Glen Powell has also been in the conversation for playing Batman. He is one of the most in-demand actors right now. Powell has responded to the fan castings, saying he would do a “wild take on Batman.” He has also admitted that he has not received a call from DC or Marvel.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Speaking to ScreenRant about the possibility of playing the role, Jake Gyllenhaal said that it would be an “honor” to play this classic character. So, if DC were to reach out to the actor, he would also most likely be ready to play the role.
