Curious to know who all dies in 28 Years Later? This horror thriller movie centers around a particular group of survivors who live on an island connected to the mainland by a guarded causeway. Throughout the movie, while several characters survive, some meet a tragic fate.

Here’s who was unable to survive in the 28 Years Later ending.

Here’s who dies in 28 Years Later’s ending and how

Many characters die in 28 Days Later, but two notable deaths were those of Erik and Isla.

Erik is a Swedish NATO Soldier whose boat sank, leaving him alone on the mainland with no way to escape. The infected ones eventually find their team and kill them. However, Erik dies at the hands of the Alpha, who is called “Samson,” who beheads him. This happens when he nearly shoots an uninfected baby and is ultimately caught. Earlier in the movie, Erik had been a great help to Isla and Spike. He popped in to rescue them from an attacking group.

Isla is Spike’s mother, who, from the first scene in the movie, appears to be unwell. It became evident when her nose frequently bled and she had trouble staying focused. Her deteriorating condition led Spike to take her to Dr. Kelson. He diagnosed her with cancer, which has reached a terminal prognosis. For the unversed, it’s a term where the doctor believes that a person won’t survive for a long time, and the ill condition will lead to death.

After learning about her condition, Isla only wanted to die peacefully. As a result, she urges Dr. Kelson to drug Spike, so he won’t interrupt her way to a peaceful demise. She hugs Spike for the last time and eventually heads with the doctor to die. By the end, it could be noticed that Erik and Isla’s heads are included in Kelson’s bone statues. Apart from these notable deaths, many characters, who didn’t have a name, also died.
