Andor Season 2‘s latest episodes feature a meeting between Cassian Andor and a surprising character, resulting in an unexpected and significant change to Star Wars canon. The events of the first meeting between the two characters are wildly different in established canon. Thus, fans are now wondering how Andor and the surprise character meet in the second season.
So how do Cassian and the mystery character meet in Star Wars: Andor Season 2? Here’s what you need to know.

How do Cassian and K-2S0 meet in Andor Season 2?
Cassian and K-2S0 meet in Andor Season 2 during the Ghorman Massacre. They meet when the latter attempts to murder the former. In Season 2 Episode 8, Imperials unleash an army of KX-series security droids on the Ghorman natives. The droids easily cut through all the natives, who unsuccessfully try hiding to avoid the attacks.
During the attacks, Cassian Andor finds himself at the mercy of one of the KX-series droids. Fortunately for him, a Ghorman rebel runs a heavy duty speeder onto the droid, cutting it in half and damaging it heavily.
Andor then salvages the damaged KX-series droid’s parts and leaves the planet with it. The droid’s parts are then reassembled and reprogrammed, and it eventually wakes up in the final scene of Episode 9.
How does Cassian and K-2SO’s meeting change the Star Wars canon?
Cassian and K-2SO’s meeting in Andor is remarkably different from what was established in Star Wars canon. Prior to what was shown in Andor Season 2, Cassian and K-2SO’s first meeting was chronicled in the one-shot comic “Star Wars: Cassian & K-2SO — Special #1,” published by Marvel Comics.
In the comic, Cassian and two other spies Kertas and Rismor, were assigned to search for Imperial security protocols that would aid in their work as Rebel spies. During the mission, Cassian accidentally set off an alarm, capturing the attention of a KX-series security droid in the vicinity. Fortunately, Kertas and Rismor found the droid’s kill switch and saved Cassian.
The trio then reprogrammed the droid to the best of their abilities, eventually eradicating its memory banks. After splitting up, Cassian and K-2SO found a ship and escaped. They then returned to base and began the uneasy relationship seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
