Another week, another batch of new figures from McFarlane Toys. But this time, it’s not DC stuff. For any Mortal Kombat fans who might have felt neglected by Todd lately, the news is good. Plus some new Gamestop Spawn variants should please devoted fans of the hellish hero. So let’s take a look at the new Mortal Kombat and Spawn announcements, which feature some crossover. Starting with Nightwolf.
The Native American shapeshifter has been long awaited by fans. Debuting in Mortal Kombat 3, and memorably played by rapper Litefoot in one of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation‘s rare bright spots, he’s finally an affordable figure. Using energy to create axes and arrows, he’s ready to go toe to toe with the likes of Spawn. And yes, there’s yet another Mortal Kombat Spawn coming, because McFarlane…
Commando Spawn, at least, features newly sculpted body armor, though the cape, gauntlets and boot spikes look the same. He sports a lot of ammo, but the only included weapons are necro blasts. Maybe he can borrow She-Spawn’s extras.
Baraka gets a variant, but finally one wearing a shirt. Dude got modest since his last figure.
Aside from the Mortal Kombat figures, McFarlane will bring two Spawn exclusives to Gamestop, including a Gunslinger Spawn repaint with his horse, and a bloody Clown with new guns. But let Todd himself demonstrate, in the video below:

Fans can preorder the Mortal Kombat figures at Entertainment Earth and other outlets for a now-astonishing price of $19.99. How McFarlane maintains that price point when every other company is approaching $30 for a basic figure…must involve some dark magic.
