UPDATE – Final Chicago Batman Shooting Days

‘Bats’ has another cool update on what will be filming for Batman Begins in Chicago next week…

Just another building originated email to its tenants about the “Batman Begins” filming:

“First, the Air and Water Show is taking place Saturday and Sunday, the 27th and 28th. As in years past, there will be trial fly bys beginning Thursday morning and throughout the day Thursday and Friday, besides the flights during the actual show. You may want to let the tenants all know say they don’t panic when the jets fly over Downtown.

The super secret movie is wrapping up Downtown footage this weekend

hopefully. They’re going out with a bang, pow, zap…

On Friday, Aug. 27th from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Saturday they will be filming on LaSalle from Jackson to Madison with a helicopter used. The cross streets will only be closed when necessary during filming.

On Saturday, Aug. 28th shortly after the Air and Water Show ends or at about 5:00 p.m. a helicopter will be taking numerous passes along and over the Chicago River until about 9:00 p.m.

Again on Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. until Sunday at 6:00 a.m. they will be closing both directions of Lower Wacker Drive for the last time. They will allow access to the affected buildings.”

UPDATE: Are the above events taking place this weekend instead? ‘thurman murman’ thinks so…

I live and work in Chicago, and I wanted to let you know that the dates given in your latest Batman Begins post are incorrect. The Air and Water Show is taking place THIS weekend (08/21 & 22). In fact, I work on LaSalle St, and I’ve seen the street closure signs (for the movie) starting late tonight–through Saturday.
