What’s the latest Star Wars rumor regarding Chris Evans?
According to noted insider Daniel Richtman (better known as DanielRPK on social media), Evans is being “eyed for a role” in an upcoming Star Wars project. It’s unclear exactly what role Evans is being eyed for, as well as for what project.
Currently, several Star Wars projects are either in active development or in some stages of production at Disney. These include a new movie set around the character of Rey Skywalker, which just recently got a new and promising update, as well as movies directed by Taika Waititi and Shawn Levy.

The next Star Wars movie will be The Mandalorian and Grogu, which arrives on May 22, 2026. A continuation of The Mandalorian Disney+ show, the film is being directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Dave Filoni. Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin, while the cast also includes Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.
After that, Star Wars: Starfighter will be released on May 28, 2027. Shawn Levy is directing that one, while Ryan Gosling has been tapped. Star Wars: Starfighter will also be set after the events of Rise of Skywalker.
