New Writers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The Iron Man duo of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway

In a move that would seem to support one of the details of yesterday's alleged Paramount slate leak, the studio has brought new writers aboard the planned live-action reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, reports Deadline.

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, two of the names behind the first  Iron Man are the team tasked with breathing new life into the franchise which, based on the 1984 comic book by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, has spawned four television series (three animated, one live-action) and four feature films (one animated, three live-action).

The reboot is currently being developed by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and, according to Deadline, the plan is to develop it into a tentpole franchise.

Will Shredder's suit fly?
This is good news. Iron Man was well-written. Still, Bay is still involved, so again another piece of my childhood is being hailed by the pervert in the van with the candy.

I hope Nickelodeon does a good job with this franchise, they are gonna reboot a movie and a tv show? I want a shredder to die like he did in the first comic, being stabbed in the chest by Leo.

So wait.. Iron Man went to shooting with nearly no shooting script at all, thats why Fav's, RDJ and the rest had to improv a lot of the movie (which got Jeff Bridges a little antsy because he can't act without a script)..

So how is this good? Most of what people liked about Iron Man wasn't even written down, let alone written by these guys. So what are they going to do, give the director an outline and say "wing it"?

I don't like it.. How about you tell me about a movie they actually finished writing before I get excited by this?

Oh so, I did the smart thing and looked these 2 up.. Yeah.. not excited now at all..

Only movie worth noting that these 2 worked on together that can be confirmed to have been finished before shooting (and that any one even saw) was Punisher: War Zone.. On top of that, these guys have only "written" 3 movies total..

So yeaaahhh.. Not the spectacular news we're being made to believe it is.
