Fox to Produce Superhero Film Chronicle

August 10, 2010

An original pitch from John and Max Landis

John Landis, the director of classics like Animal House and An American Werewolf in London, has teamed with his son, Max, for an original script called Chronicle, reports Heat Vision.

The film, to be shot in faux-documentary style with a handheld camera by first-time director Josh Trank, tells the story of three Portland teenagers who develop superpowers.

John Landis' most recent directorial effort, Burke and Hare, stars Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis and, though currently unscheduled, should see release in the near future.

Brought to you by John Landis, the guy who directed such classics as "Animal House" and "American Werewolf in London" and who practically murdered two small children and an actor while filming Twilight Zone the movie. Gee, I can't wait....

I'll admit Fox has been slipping off the ladder for a while, and this sounds interesting but I already had my share of failed superheroes. As neosclone said," Heroes meets Blair Witch". This has the hints of a SUPREME FAIL!

The more people jump on the bandwagon with their own lame versions of superheroes, the worse it'll be for everyone. Quit flooding the market with crap! All they're doing is ruining it for REAL adaptations. General audiences can only take so much and they won't be able to tell the crap from the real (Marvel/DC) stuff and tune it all out as a result. Don't kill the golden goose!

"Twilight Zone" movie director John Landis gruffly told a casting director, "The hell with you," when she refused to cast two children for a dangerous war scene, saying he would hire them illegally "off the streets," the woman testified Wednesday. Prosecutors at the involuntary manslaughter trial of Landis and four others charged that the director later carried out his threat and hired two Vietnamese children to act in the scene.

Nothing "accidental" about this!

Mr. P
Nothing "accidental" about this!

Actually, the helicopter crashing down on them was caused by accident. The children were just working when they shouldn't of been. It's not like he intended for the prop to crash down on them.

...and the verdict came out as not guilty for manslaughter.
