Robert Downey Jr. has a special message for the cast of Ironheart.
Downey Jr. played Iron Man/Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years, though his character ultimately died in Avengers: Endgame. Downey Jr. isn’t done with the MCU yet, however, as he’ll now be playing the villainous Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
Ironheart, meanwhile, is a new Marvel Studios show that follows Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams character, who first debuted in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While Ironheart and Iron Man never met in the MCU, the two characters have a close relationship in Marvel Comics.
What did Robert Downey Jr. say to the cast of Ironheart?
Thorne and Anthony Ramos, who plays Parker Robbins/The Hood in Ironheart, recently appeared on Good Morning America, where they received a special message from Downey Jr. as he continues to film Avengers: Doomsday.
“Miss Thorne, I couldn’t be happier than to be seeing you bring Riri Williams to life,” Downey Jr. said. “But The Hood has nervous — is The Hood green? Please tell me Mr. Ramos is not replacing me as Doctor Doom via Parker Robbins. Is there something they’re not telling me? Anyway, I don’t want to step on your interview. Long story short, Iron Man loves Ironheart.”
Thorne responded, “Ironheart loves Iron Man, too.”

The synopsis for Ironheart reads, “Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Television’s Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos).”
Ironheart premieres on Disney+ on June 24, 2025.
