Six New Actors Join Netflix’s Live-Action One Piece Series

Netflix’s One Piece series is filling out its cast with a handful of new performers. Deadline brings word that six new actors have joined the streamer’s live-action update of the beloved anime series.

Leading this latest crop of stars is Morgan Davies (Evil Dead Rise) as Koby. In the original anime series, Koby was the first person Monkey D. Luffy befriended during his adventures. Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls) is playing Alvida, one of Luffy’s earliest adversaries and the leader of her own pirate gang. Additionally, Jeff Ward (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast as Buggy, another pirate captain with a penchant for dressing up like a clown.

Aidan Scott (Action Point) will star as Helmeppo, a serviceman under Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp. McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) will play Arlong, a sawshark fish-man who also leads a gang of pirates. Finally, Vincent Regan (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) is playing Garp.

Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are co-showrunning and executive producing the series, which currently has a 10-episode order. Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements will also executive produce alongside original One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.
