BBC Unveils Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks Release Date Trailer

The BBC finally announced the date when fans will see the Thirteenth Doctor back in action for the Doctor Who holiday special. The British broadcaster has dropped a trailer featuring the date, Jan 1st, and a quick look at what will happen in the show. Briefly, it looks like Yaz, Ryan, and Graham will have to defend the Earth from a new Dalek invasion, as the Doctor is still trapped inside an alien prison. Chris Noth’s villainous Jack Robertson also returns, promoting “new defense drones” that are all too familiar. But another Jack — Captain Harkness — is here to help.

“We’ve crammed this year’s Doctor Who special with an explosion of extraordinary acting talent,” said showrunner Chris Chibnall in a statement. “Where else would you get British acting royalty, a globally renowned US screen star, an (inter)national treasure of stage and screen and one of Britain’s hottest young actors — just in the guest cast! Put those together with Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole (and Daleks! Did I mention Daleks!) — and you get a cast to be exterminated for. And things will explode. Promise.”

The cast features Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, John Barrowman as Captain Jack, Mandip Gill as Yaz, Bradley Walsh as Graham, and Tosin Cole as Ryan. The show will also feature Dame Harriet Walter and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
