Batwoman Adds Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens for Recurring Roles

Well, it seems that the upcoming Batwoman Season 2 will bring a lot of fresh faces on the screen. The heroine will be portrayed by a different actress than in the freshman season, given that Ruby Rose left the cape and cowl of Batwoman to Javicia Leslie. Now, Deadline brings word that Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens will join the cast in recurring roles.

Fans already know Gibson, given that she worked as Inez on the second season of the Jessica Jones series. Her credits also include playing the role of Silhouette’s Girlfriend in 2009’s Watchmen movie and portraying Alyssa Williams in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. In the upcoming Batwoman Season 2, she will play Tatiana, a.k.a. The Whisper. In her official description, she is “a skilled assassin, unflappable and cold as ice in the face of danger. She is one of Safiyah’s most important henchwomen and still harbors feelings for her powerful boss.”

In the comics, Batwoman foe Whisper A’Daire is a snake-powered, shape-shifting operative of Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins. The character created by Greg Rucka and Shawn Martinbrough made her first appearance in Detective Comics #743. Tatiana appears loosely derived from this character.
