Avengers: Doomsday will be killing off one major MCU character. Such a report has taken fans by surprise, as they were not expecting such a twist.
In a recent conversation on X, an account named The Marvelous Geek asked whether there were any cosmic entities involved in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Replying to the question, @TheJamesMk pointed out that Eternity will reportedly be featured in the movie. However, the account also added that despite the character showing up, the cosmic being will be killed off in the same movie by Marvel.
Now, this is something that not many fans expected. However, despite the claim going viral at the moment, there are no official confirmations from Marvel listing Eternity as a character in Avengers: Doomsday.
What Eternity’s arrival could mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe
If the rumors are true, then this can carry significant weight in the upcoming MCU movies. The introduction of Eternity would certainly mean that Marvel is ready to connect to its wider cosmic mythology. Eternity’s inclusion could also have some major implications in the MCU’s multiverse storyline. With the cosmic beings coming into play, there are a lot of possibilities that Marvel can explore with Doctor Doom wreaking multiversal havoc.
According to Marvel, “Eternity stands as the living embodiment of time, an eternal consciousness encompassing the entire universe, above and beyond mere mortals and their trials and tribulations.” Eternity is said to answer only to the Living Tribunal, while the true extent of the cosmic being’s power is beyond human comprehension.
Currently, there is no update on what the plot of Avengers: Doomsday will offer. However, with the likes of Chris Evans coming back and Robert Downey Jr. playing the big bad, the hype is skyrocketing. So far, the trailer has teased a chaotic turn of events as Doctor Doom looks to obliterate the multiverse and bring his wrath upon Earth’s mightiest heroes.
