It has now been revealed that Snyder returned to the Warner Bros. lot to host a special screening of John Boorman’s acclaimed 1981 fantasy movie Excalibur. Sharing an Instagram post featuring a photo of himself at the studio in Burbank, Snyder wrote, “Hanging out with a bunch of amazing people today down at the WB.” The screening was held for the employees.

According to Page Six, Snyder received a “hero’s welcome” at the event. It was a full house comprising employees from the motion picture group and other guests. The attendees were there to question Snyder and studio executives, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

Although it has not been confirmed, Snyder’s upcoming remake of the 1981 cult classic Escape From New York could potentially involve Warner Bros. following his recent visit.

Snyder’s screening is part of a series of events Warner Bros. has recently held at the studio. The events are intended to boost employee morale amid uncertainty surrounding the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. merger deal.

Warner Bros. employees are reportedly concerned about their jobs and future security amid uncertainty surrounding the $110 billion deal, which has yet to close.

The fate of the deal is still in limbo, especially after 12 states filed a lawsuit in the federal court in Sacramento to block the merger. The lawsuit was filed by the attorneys general of California, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington.

Last month, Paramount agreed not to complete the deal with Warner Bros. until June 1, 2027. The two parties need to wait for the lawsuit situation to get fully resolved before making any progress.
