X-Men: MCU Reboot Movie’s Filming Start Date Gets Great Update From Sadie Sink

Sadie Sink has hinted at when Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot might begin filming. The actress recently made her MCU debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Sink has finally opened up about playing Jean Grey after months of speculation surrounding her role. At one point, the Stranger Things star was asked about her future projects. The actress then shared an approximate window for when filming on the highly anticipated X-Men reboot may begin.

“We’ll shoot X-Men, and then I’m going to do a series with FX and A24 called The Marriage Plot, so that’ll be next year,” Sink shared. She added, “With Stranger Things ending, it’ll feel weird next year not being like, Oh wait, we got to shoot another season. We have to get ready to go back to Atlanta to shoot. It’s exciting to be able to have more room in the schedule.”

How Spider-Man 4 expands Sadie Sink’s MCU journey

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is just the beginning of Sadie Sink’s MCU journey. The movie sets the stage for Jean Grey’s future in the MCU.

Marvel Studios has already begun casting the other members of the X-Men for its highly anticipated reboot. Recent reports suggest that Kit Connor is being considered for Cyclops. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgård and Tom Pelphrey are reportedly being considered for Professor X.

During her Vanity Fair interview, Sink also spoke enthusiastically about Jean Grey as a character. “All the women in X-Men are so strong and interesting—their relationship with their powers, how they’re capable of doing incredible things,” she said. “It gives them so much strength, but then it also affects their lives in negative ways.”

Sink added, “It was kind of nice to start out with the negative side of it with Jean, how she’s just learning what she’s capable of. And before she can even develop her relationship to her powers and what they mean to her, they are used by people who want to do harm with what she’s capable of, what her sister’s capable of.”

For now, fans are still waiting for Marvel to officially announce when the superhero team will return to the screen.
