Marvel is giving Mary Jane Watson a stylish spotlight before her next comic even reaches shelves. A newly revealed Peach Momoko cover places the fan-favorite heroine at the center of the artist’s latest signature variant line arriving later this year.
Peach Momoko’s Mary Jane variant joins Marvel’s new Momo-Tone collection
Mary Jane Watson’s upcoming solo adventure just picked up an eye-catching addition. In a new announcement, Marvel unveiled Peach Momoko’s painted variant cover for Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane #1, making it one of the first showcased entries in the artist’s newly introduced Momo-Tone Variant Cover collection. The publisher plans to expand the line with additional reveals in the coming weeks before the covers arrive in comic shops this November.

The cover accompanies Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane, a limited series announced during San Diego Comic-Con. The story follows Mary Jane after the events of Queen in Black, giving one of Spider-Man’s most recognizable allies a fresh chapter of her own. While Marvel focused this week’s announcement on artwork rather than story details, Momoko’s dreamy painted style instantly became one of the headline reveals.
Mary Jane wasn’t the only character grabbing attention. Marvel also previewed several other upcoming variants spanning different franchises. Among them, Annie Wu paired Emma Frost with Miss Piggy for an X-Men United #7 anniversary cover celebrating The Muppet Show’s 50th anniversary. Elsewhere, Jonas Scharf delivered an autumn-inspired Black Cat #14 illustration, while Flaviano created a two-part connecting cover for Daredevil #6 and #7 as the series heads into its next crime-war storyline.
The publisher also offered a first look at Mr. Garcin’s regular-order variant for Avengers #1, launching alongside Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s new run this November. The artwork combines Marvel’s classic Avengers roster with the incoming lineup through Garcin’s recognizable collage design.
Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane #1, featuring Momoko’s Momo-Tone variant, is scheduled to reach comic shops on Nov. 4.
