Marvel reveals Eddie Brock and Mary Jane Watson’s future after Queen in Black
A recent press release by Marvel revealed that the studio is going to release two new solo comic book series based on Mary Jane and Venom after the Queen in Black crossover.
The first series will be based on Venom and is called VENOM #1. It will showcase Eddie Brock reuniting with the symbiote and serving as the Lethal Protector. Written by Charles Soule and illustrated by artist Tommaso Bianchi, the comic book series will “reveal the secrets behind Eddie and Venom’s reunification.” It is coming out in October. While speaking about the VENOM #1 series, Soule said at the panel, “I am so thrilled to be relaunching VENOM with an all-new #1 this October with art by Tommaso Bianchi, who is doing astonishing work. Every panel leaps off the page into your eyeballs; it takes up room, it nests in your mind, which is a good thing in this case.”
The second series will focus on Mary Jane starting her own business after she gets separated from Venom. Her series will also feature characters like Iron Man, Black Cat, and more. The series titled FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD MARY JANE is written by Ashley Allen and illustrated by Phil Noto. It will focus on Jane’s new life in New York and will have five issues, starting in November.
Speaking of the series, Allen said, “I’m so excited to be taking Mary Jane on this next chapter! MJ has always understood people in a way few can, and that’s what makes this series so exciting to write.”
