Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender has officially wrapped production for both its second and third seasons. This marks the completion of filming for the highly anticipated fantasy series.
The two seasons were shot back-to-back following the success of the first installment in 2024. With post-production underway, the series is expected to make its return on Netflix in 2026. However, as of now, an official premiere date has not been announced.
Production for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 wrapped in May 2025, following which filming for Season 3 began. To celebrate the end of filming, Netflix released a photo from the set featuring lead cast members Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Miya Cech, and Maria Zhang.
Executive producer and writer Christine Boylan reflected on the conclusion of filming in a statement shared with Tudum. She said, “When we started working on Season 2, we gathered three forces: integrity, hope, and joy.”
Boyland continued, “And here we are almost three years later wrapping the end of production with an immensely talented and devoted team that met those ideals and exceeded them.” She also expressed gratitude towards the cast and crew members.
Season 1 followed Aang’s journey as he learned to master the four elements and bring peace in the world.
