Wonder Man Season 2 Gets Key Update Ahead of Series Premiere

Marvel Television has offered a promising update on Wonder Man months before its highly anticipated debut. The latest comments from studio executives hint at future plans for the series, sparking speculation about its long-term direction within the expanding Marvel TV slate. The show premieres soon on Disney+, featuring a fresh take on one of Marvel’s most overlooked heroes.

Wonder Man Season 2 could happen on one condition

During the Phase Hero LIVE podcast at New York Comic Con 2025, Marvel TV chief Brad Winderbaum discussed the future of Wonder Man. He specifically addressed whether the series could return for a second season.

When asked about future episodes, Winderbaum said, “That depends on y’all. You know, if you watch it, we can make more.” He clarified that renewal relies entirely on viewership and audience engagement, reflecting Disney+’s performance-based approach to greenlighting follow-ups.

The discussion came after the debut of the Wonder Man trailer, which features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams. The show reimagines the classic Marvel hero as an actor trying to balance fame and a fictional superhero identity in a Hollywood satire. The trailer also includes Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, tying the series back to Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Winderbaum described Wonder Man as a distinct entry in Marvel Television’s expanding lineup, standing apart from standard hero storytelling. He explained that each series now depends on how audiences show up, noting that fan response to projects like Marvel Zombies directly influenced internal decisions to produce more.

Produced by Marvel Studios’ television division, Wonder Man joins upcoming releases like VisionQuest and Daredevil: Born Again under Winderbaum’s supervision. The first season premieres on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. Its future will depend on streaming numbers and audience response.
