A new rumor suggests Netflix may adopt a three-part release schedule for Stranger Things Season 5. The staggered rollout could begin in October, continue in November, and conclude in early 2026. The plan reportedly aims to accommodate the season’s extended length and high production scale, though Netflix has not officially confirmed the release strategy.
Stranger Things Season 5 could release in three parts until 2026
Industry scooper @MyTimeToShineHello recently took to X (formerly Twitter) and stated, “I heard Netflix is considering releasing Stranger Things 5 in three parts: one in October, one in November, and the last one in early 2026.”
At Netflix’s recent Upfront event in New York City, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp appeared onstage to present exclusive BTS footage. However, the streamer did not confirm a release date. Netflix may reveal more details at its Tudum event on May 31.
Meanwhile, co-creator Ross Duffer shared in December 2024, “Everyone involved was determined to bring this story to a satisfying conclusion,” adding that the team poured their “hearts and souls” into the final season.
Maya Hawke previously said on the Podcrushed podcast that Season 5 would feel like “basically, eight movies,” suggesting longer episode runtimes. She also referenced delays due to the writers’ and actors’ strike.
Elsewhere, while talking about the show’s plot, Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin in the show, addressed his character’s trauma over Eddie’s death in an interview with TV Insider, stating, “[Dustin] would’ve had to have left [Eddie] there to get out and leave himself.” Noah Schnapp told Variety he hoped for a “coming-out scene” for his character Will and questioned why Will was the “first victim” of the Mind Flayer. Jamie Campbell Bower also confirmed Vecna’s return to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “Let me put it this way: I know about Season 5.”
Notably, Season 5, featuring eight episodes, is going to be the final installment of the series.
