Kelsey Grammer is reportedly in talks to return as Beast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his appearance in The Marvels mid-credits scene. While details remain unconfirmed, reports suggest he may reprise his role in upcoming Avengers films. Speculation continues to grow about how Beast and the X-Men could factor into the MCU’s expanding multiverse storyline.
Kelsey Grammer’s Beast to return in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars
The rumor about Kelsey Grammer returning in the new Avengers movies was shared by MyTimeToShineHello on X (formerly Twitter) in a post, stating, “Kelsey Grammer will reprise his role as Beast in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and AVENGERS: SECRET WARS.” This follows Grammer’s return as Hank McCoy in The Marvels mid-credits scene, marking his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Marvel Studios reportedly changed its plans for the upcoming Avengers films. The studio assigned the Russo Brothers to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, placing Doctor Doom at the center of the Multiverse Saga. The Marvels post-credits scene confirmed mutants exist in an alternate universe, identified as Earth-10005, which previously housed Fox’s X-Men franchise.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Grammer opened up about his potential return, saying, “There’s nothing I can talk about. What I do know is that there was a huge sort of outburst when I showed up at the end of The Marvels, I guess it was. The response was really almost… it wasn’t unexpected. There’d be some response, but it was pretty overwhelming, and so there are some conversations.”
In a virtual live appearance at the opening of the Disney APAC Content Showcase, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke about the X-Men’s role in the MCU, saying, “I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize.” He further stated, “Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back” (via Deadline).
Grammer originally played Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and reprised the role briefly in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Nicholas Hoult later portrayed a younger version of the character in the X-Men prequel series. Marvel Studios plans to release Avengers: Doomsday in May 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in May 2027.
